ABOUT MAINLY MONSTERS

A free roaming monster clearance experience with arcade and strategy elements.

It employs a first person perspective in pretends 3d, relying a navigation system as first deployed with previous released game  X-A Eliminator [here]

NAVIGATION

Walk N E S W using Joystick Left-Right, where left instructs CCW and right CW.  Joystick Up once, for forward motion, Down to halt.

Choose to walk across countryside or use paths in any Realm.

A Realm is a grid location on the map (BW/Color Switch), differentiated by pattern and creatures. Structures exist at locations 2,2, linked by Paths.

UI

To use a path, note UI's LHS digit representing your X location and the RHS digit representing Y.  Between is the directional arrow.

PATHS

A path is struck when ...

  • walking North or South when X  is 2
  • walking East or West when Y is 2

MAP

BW/Color Switch brings up the map. 

It shows structures and where you are in relation, as represented by a dot. This exists on a two-by-four grid. Resolution is approximate and not an absolute measure to a structure when standing within a grid location—the now 'merged plot.'

Using navigation cues from the UI, whenever you've travelled a distance of 5 (since 0 to 4 rolls to 0, or 4 to 0 rolls to 4),  either N_S or E_W, demarcates the next grid location.
